Q1: What was your inspiration for creating the bears and writing the books?

The Amputeddies were first made for the president of the company Jean Boelter, who became a lower extremity amputee at the age of five. The first bear was made out of an old dish towel

Sandie is originally from Taiwan and has both upper and lower limb differences that are congenital.

Alexis is 12 years old and was born with a below elbow right hand amputation. She believes that she can do anything that she sets her mind to.
